Central Suffolk & North Ipswich Constituency Labour Party (CSNI CLP) is the voice of the Labour Party in rural Central Suffolk and three urban wards in North Ipswich.
Since the election of Jeremy Corbyn as Leader in 2015, and again in 2016, Labour Party membership in Central Suffolk has nearly doubled. We now have more than 700 full members and over 250 registered affiliates and supporters. Our members are of all ages and are from all walks of life.
We value open and democratic participation in our discussions and debates. In a widespread rural constituency, with many small communities and very poor public transport, it is difficult to organise meetings that everyone can get to. We do hold meetings, but this mainly when the Party’s ‘Rule Book’ requires it, such as deciding constituency policy before National Conference or when selecting a candidate to stand for parliament. We are making increasing use of email and online polling and voting so that all our members and supporters can make their opinions count, even if they can’t get to meetings.
